The Groundskeeper will perform labor-intensive tasks in an industrial setting under the direction of a supervisor or foreman. Work may involve operating various hand and power tools, cleaning and preparing sites, digging trenches, setting braces to support excavation sides, erecting scaffolding, cleaning rubble and debris, and removing waste materials. Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor. Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure the site each day to eliminate hazards. Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in an industrial setting. Cut lawn using hand, power or riding mower and trim and edge around walks, flower beds, and walls. Plant flowers, grass, shrubs, and bushes. Sweep walkway of debris. Trim shrubs and pull weeds. Perform minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in grounds keeping. Rake, mulch, and prune the grounds as needed. Water plants and grass as needed and apply fertilizer. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely. Ability to understand, follow and transmit written and oral instructions. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have full mobility in upper and lower body, able to reach overhead, work in various positions, including standing, bending, kneeling, squatting; use hands to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance for extended periods. Experience
