Position Summary
The Wastewater Treatment Technician is responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining IFAB Corp’s industrial wastewater treatment systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations. This role involves routine testing, chemical handling, system maintenance, and documentation to ensure safe and effective treatment of process water used in metal fabrication activities. The technician plays a key part in supporting environmental sustainability and operational efficiency within the plant.
Key Responsibilities
Operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater treatment systems, pumps, filters, and related equipment.
Conduct daily water quality testing (pH, TSS, metals concentration, etc.) to ensure compliance with discharge permits and environmental standards.
Adjust chemical dosing and treatment processes based on test results and process requirements.
Maintain accurate logs, reports, and records of daily operations, test results, and maintenance activities.
Perform preventive maintenance on wastewater treatment and filtration equipment to minimize downtime.
Handle and store treatment chemicals safely, in compliance with OSHA and EPA standards.
Support internal and external environmental audits and inspections.
Collaborate with the EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) team to maintain regulatory compliance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Identify opportunities to improve water treatment efficiency and reduce waste.
Respond promptly to system alarms or process
