Job Summary The Quality Assurance (QA) Technician supports the QA Supervisor in managing and enforcing the plant’s food safety and quality systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and adherence to company standards. The technician monitors HACCP, GMPs, SSOPs, and other QA programs, manages product specification monitoring, documents procedures, implements real‑time corrective actions, and communicates across all levels of the production process to maintain consistent product quality and safety.

Qualifications

Working knowledge of food safety and quality systems, including HACCP, GMPs, and SSOPs

Intermediate computer proficiency (data entry, basic spreadsheets, document management)

Ability to stand firm on quality issues while maintaining respect with staff

Excellent attendance

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Willingness to work overtime, including weekends, as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Two years of experience in a food processing or manufacturing environment

Prior experience as a QA Technician or QA Lead Technician

Knowledge of the company’s products and equipment

Familiarity with regulatory compliance standards (e.g., USDA, FDA, third‑party audits)

Strong focus, time management, and organizational skills

Team‑oriented work style

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

Key Responsibilities

Assist the QA Supervisor in enforcing food safety and quality standards

Monitor HACCP, GMP, and SSOP activities on the production floor

Document and maintain accurate records of QA processes and corrective actions

Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to resolve quality issues promptly

Maintain awareness of regulatory requirements and company policies

Participate in internal and external audits and inspections

Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality and safety

Work Environment The QA Technician works primarily on the production floor, including cold temperature zones (40 °F – 45 °F). The role involves exposure to food‑related odors, dust, and seasoning particles, and requires frequent interaction with machinery and sanitation teams. An attentive, fast‑paced environment demands quick problem solving and constant PPE usage in compliance with safety and food safety policies.

Physical Demands The position requires regular standing, walking, bending, climbing stairs, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Hand use, arm reach, verbal communication, and detailed paperwork and inspections are essential. Good vision, including color perception and depth perception, is required.
