Infant/Toddler Teacher
Base pay range: $14.00/hr - $16.00/hr
The “Childcare Specialist” is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate daycare program for the children of “Especially Children Child Care Development Center” in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures. The Childcare Specialist will plan and implement a program to care for young children and ensure their development and safety. This person must be respectful of children and parents, and keep equipment and facilities clean, safe, and well maintained.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a program for young children.
Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
Provide nutritious snacks and lunches.
Ensure adequate equipment and activities.
Maintain cleanliness and safety of the facility at all times.
Provide weekly and monthly schedules of activities.
Develop culturally appropriate programs and activities.
Introduce math and literacy concepts.
Establish policies and procedures, including disciplinary policies.
Be familiar with emergency procedures.
Supervise children at all times.
Provide various experiences and activities, including songs, games, and storytelling.
Create opportunities for sleep and rest.
Build children's esteem and provide positive guidance.
Implement positive discipline when required.
Communicate clearly and effectively in a manner children understand.
Maintain program administration, keep parents informed, and maintain client files.
Develop daily activity plans.
Requirements
Knowledge:
child development practices, safe activities, policies ensuring supervision and safety.
Skills:
team building, supervisory, analytical and problem solving, decision making, effective verbal and listening communication, stress management, time management.
Personal attributes:
respectful, culturally aware and sensitive, flexible, strong work ethic, consistent and fair, compassionate and understanding, ability to build esteem while ensuring a safe environment.
Nice to Haves:
six months experience in a licensed childcare facility, Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education, ability to lift up 35 lbs.
