H-E-B is seeking energetic and motivated Partners to provide excellent customer service across our Food Service Department. As a Food Service Representative you will maintain a well-stocked, well-maintained department, ensure food safety and sanitation standards, and contribute to the partner‑owned culture that drives H‑E‑B’s success.
Responsibilities Customer Service
Provides superior customer service to in‑person and telephone customers.
Takes orders, answers product questions, and assists with selections.
Food Service / Production
Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh products daily.
Slices, labels, rotates, and removes poor‑quality items.
Assists in technical areas such as set‑up and clean‑up processes.
Sales
Uses suggestive selling techniques and product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales.
Food Safety
Clears and sanitizes display cases.
Operates and maintains equipment properly.
Complies with H‑E‑B food safety, sanitation standards, and store operating procedures.
Bakery / Deli / Prepared Foods (Optional Department‑Specific)
Records production and shrink, assists with baking, frying, decorating, and inventory management.
Performs sanitation and maintenance tasks for respective equipment.
Complies with departmental requirements (e.g., lifts, handling, and hygiene guidelines).
Qualifications
Minimum age 18.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completion of Company Orientation, and food safety and sanitation training upon hire.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Planning, organizing, reading, and writing skills.
Ability to work in a fast‑paced, detail‑oriented retail environment.
Physical ability to lift and move up to 70 lbs (or as required per department).
