The New Ulm Public Library is seeking a part-time Library Assistant to assist with a variety of front desk, customer service, and library support duties. Responsibilities include answering questions and phone calls; checking library materials in and out; registering and renewing borrowers; placing holds and interlibrary loan requests; collecting payments; assisting patrons with computers, printers, and digital resources; creating and maintaining displays; and performing other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Basic computer proficiency.
Familiarity with libraries and library classification systems.
Valid driver’s license.
This is a part-time position scheduled for up to 24 hours per week, with a generally consistent schedule that may occasionally shift to support evening programs, weekend outreach events, or community activities. Hours are posted on the City website. Pay range is $18.10 – $21.38 per hour, depending on qualifications.
