The Role

We are seeking a dynamic, creative educator to teach, in-person, in the areas of World Languages or High Interest Electives. While our top priority is meeting our students' graduation requirements, we are open to candidates who can bring unique skills and passion to our program. This could include:

World Languages: American Sign Language (ASL), French, Spanish, Latin, German, Italian.

High-Interest Electives: Computer Science, Digital Media, Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Business & Entrepreneurship, STEM/Engineering, or other innovative courses that engage and challenge students.

What You'll Do

Design and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons

Build strong relationships with students, inspiring them to achieve their personal best

Integrate technology and real-world applications into instruction

Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and rigorous learning environment

Assess and track student progress, providing timely feedback and support

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging, standards-based World Languages I, II, and possibly III or IV lesson plans for grades 9–12.

Foster listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in World Languages using immersive and communicative strategies.

Incorporate cultural knowledge to deepen students’ global understanding and appreciation for the World Language‑speaking world.

Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning styles and needs.

Develops pupil understanding and appreciation of culture of countries where he studied language is spoken.

Assess and monitor student progress regularly and communicate effectively with students, families, and school staff.

Integrate technology and real-world experiences into classroom instruction.

Maintain a structured, respectful, and positive classroom environment that supports student growth.

Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school-wide events.

Collaborate with colleagues to support interdisciplinary projects and school culture.

Requirements

Qualifications Required:

Bachelor’s degree in a foreign language, Education, or a related field

Proficiency in speaking, reading and writing a foreign language

Prior experience teaching high school students

Strong classroom management and interpersonal communication skills

Alignment with the mission and values of Rise Academy

Preferred:

Teaching license or certification in foreign language (or eligibility to obtain)

Experience in a private, charter, or mission-based school

This is an in-person position and not virtual teaching position.
