About the Role Porters work on a team of 4‑6 people who are responsible for ensuring that Red Rabbit’s kitchen exceeds Department of Health standards and that all equipment is in working order for daily use. The ideal candidate has experience maintaining the physical plant of a large warehouse environment, restaurant/kitchen, or hospital setting and has a reliable, energetic, “can‑do” attitude.
Critical Functions
Properly clean all areas of the kitchen to ensure compliance with DOH standards, including countertops, cooking equipment, walk‑in refrigerators, floors, hand sinks, dishes, and storage areas.
Remove trash, cardboard and compost in a timely manner so the kitchen remains clean and free from debris for food preparation.
Proactively work to ensure the kitchen team is set‑up for meal production each day.
Additional duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
1+ years of work experience in a restaurant, hotel or commissary kitchen.
Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, procedures, safety and sanitation regulations.
High School Graduate or equivalent (preferred).
Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and move from area to area in the kitchen.
Must be reliable, function well within a team, and work calmly and efficiently in a fast‑moving environment.
Must operate proactively and with a sense of urgency and have attention to detail.
Must have a great attitude that contributes to a positive working environment.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Typical Hours 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (schedule may change), Monday – Friday
