Job Title: Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA) – NCCU (Rotational)
Department: James | Critical Care Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant
Location: James Cancer Hospital (0375)
Position Type: Regular
Scheduled Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift: Rotating Shift
Scope of Position The APP is responsible for providing health care services to patients within a standard care agreement or under the supervision of an attending physician from The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. The APP collaborates with physicians and other clinicians to deliver full‑scope patient care, focusing on preventive health and management of acute, stable chronic conditions. Services are performed as authorized by the credentialing body and certifying organization.
Position Summary The APP provides health care services to patients in collaboration with a licensed physician member of the medical staff. Services include care during acute and chronic illness phases, education and counseling of individuals and families, health promotion and prevention, and referral to other providers and community resources when appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Current certificate of authority to practice as an APRN in the State of Ohio.
Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program qualifying for the national certification exam recognized by the Ohio Board of Nursing and holding a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
OR Masters Prepared; Graduate of a PA‑C program qualified for the certification exam recognized by the NCCPA and eligible for State of Ohio licensure as a PA‑C.
One year of relevant experience preferred.
Additional Information Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check. A drug screen or physical may be required during the post‑offer process.
