Youth Pastor – Olive Branch Baptist Church Summary: Olive Branch Baptist Church is seeking a Youth Pastor to serve as the Pastor of students.

This position will work closely with the Senior Pastor to shepherd the congregation and oversee the spiritual development of families within the church. The ideal candidate will have a passion for discipling families, children, and youth while fostering a vibrant church community that reflects the love and grace of Jesus Christ. The Pastor of Families will be responsible for providing spiritual leadership, pastoral care, and organizational oversight to key ministry areas, including youth, children, and family events.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight of Youth and Children’s Ministries: Supervise and support leaders of the Youth and Children’s Ministries, ensuring the programs are biblically grounded, engaging, and meet the spiritual needs of children and teens.

Wednesday Night Youth Ministry: Organize and lead the weekly Wednesday Night Youth Ministry, specifically leading the Youth Group for teens. Coordinate volunteers and ensure a dynamic program that promotes family involvement and spiritual growth.

Coordinate Seasonal Ministries: Work with leaders to organize and lead key annual events such as Vacation Bible School (VBS), Youth Week, Another Level Basketball, and other outreach ministries.

Organize Fellowship and Outreach Events: Plan and facilitate fellowship events, such as youth events, church picnics, family gatherings, and special outreach opportunities that foster community engagement. Promote evangelism opportunities within and outside the church.

Preaching & Teaching: Participate in preaching and teaching as needed, including leading Bible studies, Sunday School, and occasional worship services in coordination with the Senior Pastor.

Shepherd the Flock: Provide spiritual care, guidance, and counseling to the congregation, particularly families, children, and youth, including visitation and attendance at local youth events such as sporting games, Light the Night rallies and camp, and Lunch Buddies.

Assist Senior Pastor: Collaborate with the Senior Pastor in the overall vision and mission of the church, assist in leadership decisions, and step in to preach and lead when the Senior Pastor is absent. Help coordinate with Choir Leader and Worship Leader.

Qualifications

A calling to serve in pastoral ministry, with a particular heart for children, youth, and families.

Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field.

Experience preferred but not required, preferably with experience in youth and family ministry.

Strong interpersonal skills with a compassionate heart for shepherding families and individuals.

Ability to work collaboratively with church staff, ministry leaders, and volunteers.

Strong communication and organizational skills.

Experience in preaching and teaching is preferred.

Ability to manage multiple tasks, events, and teams effectively.

A committed Christian with a clear testimony, a strong biblical worldview and an active, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Meet and comply with biblical qualifications in 1 Timothy 3:2-7; Titus 1:2-7; and 1 Peter 5:2-3.

In agreement with the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 and Olive Branch’s Articles of Faith.

Kids Pastor – Friends Church What You’d Do 1. Lead with Vision and Strategy

Create and implement a strategic vision for Friends Kids that aligns with the mission and discipleship strategy of Friends Church.

Provide direct leadership, support, and development to a dynamic Kids Ministry staff team.

Build a healthy volunteer culture by recruiting, training, equipping, and celebrating servant leaders.

Create leadership pathways that empower volunteers to take ownership and multiply their impact.

2. Champion Kids Discipleship

Oversee weekend gatherings (Birth–3rd Grade), ensuring excellence in curriculum, teaching, safety, worship, and experience.

Oversee and cast vision for weekday ministries, including 3-year–3rd Grade Bible Adventure Club Wednesday Night programming.

Oversee the Champions Ministry, providing an inclusive and nurturing experience for kids and adults with special needs.

3. Engage and Equip Parents

Develop intentional strategies and resources that inspire and equip parents to disciple their kids at home.

Collaborate with the Discipleship Team to connect parents into Parent Groups on Wednesday nights.

Build meaningful relationships with parents that offer support, encouragement, and spiritual guidance.

4. Cultivate a Ministry that Goes

Create opportunities for kids to serve both locally and globally.

Partner with schools and community organizations to build bridges of influence.

Equip and activate kids to use their gifts through ministry teams.

5. Partner Church-Wide

Work collaboratively with NextGen, Weekend Experience, and Communications teams to ensure events and ministry align with the broader church vision.

Participate in church-wide events such as VBS, Family FunFest, Tree Lighting, and Baptism Celebrations.

Serve as a liaison to Friends Christian School to build partnerships that bless students and families.

Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, child development, or related field required.

Rooftop Church – Pastor of Small Groups & Memberships The Rooftop Pastor of Small Groups & Memberships will lead, manage, and grow the small group ministry as the primary means of community and discipleship at Rooftop. They will also grow our membership roster, provide pastoral care as needed, supervise ministry leaders, preach regularly, and participate in shared responsibilities as part of the staff.

Job Responsibilities and Description Small Groups

Lead a small group.

Grow and develop Rooftop’s small group ministry into a primary means of discipleship and connections at Rooftop.

Start new small groups and oversee sign‑up process during January, May, and August.

Stay in contact with small group leaders for purposes of equipping and support.

Visit small groups annually to provide feedback and answer members’ questions about the health and direction of Rooftop.

Ensure that all small group instruction is consistent with Rooftop’s Statement of Faith.

Help identify and train future small group leaders.

Publicize and champion the importance of small group–based discipleship.

Membership

Help members discover their mission as followers of Jesus in the world. Be available to members in crisis or conflict, and disciple them through these challenges.

Model discipleship by helping a few hand‑picked leaders and members to grow in Christ through mentoring and prayer.

With the staff, Elders, and deacons, identify people at Rooftop who should take their next step and join the Fourth Floor membership. Communicate to those people the meaning and importance of membership.

Encourage and challenge members with notes, visits, and messages.

Schedule and help conduct meetings with possible members and the Elders.

With the church staff, complete the onboarding process.

Conduct a regular recommitment process for members to reconsider or recommit to membership.

With the church staff, manage and update the database.

Model a commitment in serving, giving, community, and faith.

Preaching

Preach approximately once every 4–6 weeks, at the request of the Lead Pastor. Oversee all Sunday morning programming responsibilities on those Sundays.

Cultivate a “feedback team” to continue growing as a preacher/communicator. Work with the Lead Pastor in the preparation and evaluation of sermons, and identify strengths and weaknesses as a communicator.

Assist the Lead Pastor to assess the needs of the congregation in scheduling sermon series.

Use preaching as an opportunity to champion our values and purpose as a church.

Participate in Sunday morning service as requested outside of normal preaching requirement.

Leadership

Support assigned ministry leaders by meeting regularly, helping them coordinate ministries, and troubleshooting as necessary.

Provide pastoral support, accountability, and guidance to leaders and their families.

Identify possible new leaders, provide mentoring and development opportunities, and help them find their leadership role at Rooftop and in the wider kingdom.

Congregational Care

Provide pastoral leadership and counsel to Rooftoppers‑in‑need, following up as appropriate.

Perform weddings, funerals, and other pastoral care as schedule allows and as requested.

Work with the Lead Pastor and staff to provide additional discipleship and growth opportunities for the people of Rooftop.

Handle general unassigned tasks of church leadership: pastoral care, administrative duties, etc.

Maintain regular presence in office as requested.

Meet with church elders and staff weekly for communication, development, and discipleship.

Development

Pursue personal development opportunities to grow in wisdom and effectiveness.

Seek out professional development opportunities to grow in leadership, teaching, and other gifts.

Continue reading and studying as a teacher of God’s word and leader of his people.

Congregational Life

Remain involved in all congregation events including social functions and church gatherings.

Remain committed to the purpose and values of the church: teaching, worship, evangelism, community, service, and prayer.
