ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY Schedule/Hours: M – F 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
This position is responsible for:
Provides individual, family, and group counseling in relation to the treatment and recovery of substance abuse. Prepares and maintains up-to-date electronic case notes, consumer records and reports. Meets with the Clinical Director and other staff to coordinate treatment objectives and outcomes. Utilizes evidence-based counseling techniques including but not limited to motivational interviewing, 12 Step counseling, cognitive therapy techniques.
Key Responsibilities
Develops individualized treatment plans in relation to the progress of each consumer. Ensures treatment plans address the physical, emotional, vocational, social, and spiritual needs of each consumer. Maintains electronic case files.
Conducts substance abuse therapeutic/rehabilitation counseling sessions. Conducts individual sessions for consumers. Utilizes evidence-based counseling techniques including but not limited to motivational interviewing, 12 Step counseling, cognitive therapy techniques.
Participates in staff meetings and general case reviews during staffing and other program business. Maintains community contact for appropriate referrals and supplemental services
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking
Work requires performance of duties in social services environments where exposure to communicable and infectious diseases are possible.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Behavioral Science or a related field
AND
Certified as a substance abuse counselor through NAADAC or AADAA or licensed as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW; or ability to achieve certification within first 24 months of employment
OR
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Psychology, Social Work, Behavioral Science or a related field; is a licensed bachelor level social worker or a Registered Nurse and holds a substance abuse counselor certification
OR
two years clinical experience in the substance abuse or mental health field
OR
Any equivalent experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
Licenses and Certifications
Valid State Driver’s License
Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (as outlined above)
