Key Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications. Operate and maintain various welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welders. Perform precise welding on metal components and structures according to engineering drawings. Inspect finished welds for quality, defects, and conformity to standards using appropriate tools. Fabricate and assemble metal parts, ensuring proper alignment and fit. Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE). Clean, grind, and prepare metal surfaces for welding.
Recommended Qualifications Proficiency in multiple welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols Demonstrated experience with various metal types (e.g., mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum) Relevant welding certifications (e.g., AWS D1.1, D1.2, or D1.6) Strong understanding and adherence to safety protocols and quality standards
Bonus Qualifications Experience with robotic or automated welding systems. Demonstrated ability to perform advanced fabrication tasks, including layout, cutting, and fitting. Familiarity with quality inspection techniques (e.g., visual inspection, NDT basics) and documentation. Experience welding exotic materials or thin gauge metals. AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or other advanced AWS certifications.
