A Finishing Carpenter is responsible for maintaining the building and facilities to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while building required items and preparing preventative maintenance schedules.

What will I be doing? As a Finishing Carpenter you will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry, gypsum board, and painting works across guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role ensures all finishes meet hotel brand standards, safety requirements, and aesthetic expectations while minimizing disruption to hotel operations and guests.

Carpentry & Finishing Works

Perform fine carpentry and finishing works including doors, frames, skirting, architraves, moldings, wall panels, cabinetry, wardrobes, headboards, and furniture repairs.

Install, repair, and adjust wooden fixtures, decorative elements, and millwork

Install and repair hardware such as hinges, locks, handles, and door closers

Match existing finishes, laminates, veneers, stains, and colors

Install gypsum board partitions, ceilings, bulkheads, and decorative features

Perform framing, fixing, jointing, taping, sanding, and preparation works

Repair damaged gypsum walls and ceilings to seamless finish standards

Painting & Finishing Painting

Carry out painting works including primer, base coat, and finishing coat

Perform touch-up painting, patch repairs, and color matching

Execute high-quality finishing painting on walls, ceilings, woodwork, and gypsum surfaces

Prepare surfaces through sanding, filling, and cleaning prior to painting

General & Operational Responsibilities

Ensure all works comply with hotel quality standards, safety procedures, and fire life safety requirements

Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in clean and safe condition

Identify material requirements and report shortages to the supervisor

Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs

Support renovation, refurbishment, and defect rectification projects

Strong carpentry, gypsum, and painting skills with attention to detail

Ability to deliver high-quality finishes suitable for guest-facing areas

Knowledge of tools, materials, paints, and surface preparation techniques

Good time management and ability to work independently

Experience working in occupied hotel environments

Basic English communication skills

Experience certification in carpentry or finishing works

Minimum 5 years’ experience in carpentry, gypsum board installation, and painting

Hotel, hospitality, or high-end commercial experience is an advantage

Physically fit to lift materials, work at heights, and operate power tools safely
