The Company
The Morning Star Company and its affiliates operate three tomato processing facilities in Central California, processing over 1/3 of the California processing tomato crop, in addition to tomato transplanting, farming, harvesting and trucking operations. The company employs approximately 600 year-round and 2,500 seasonal colleagues.
The Morning Star Company is the largest independent producer of bulk tomato ingredient products (tomato paste and diced tomatoes) in the world. We also produce canned tomatoes, tomato products and specialty sauces in pouches for customers in the retail and food service markets. The company is known worldwide for its innovation and integrity.
We are organizationally structured through a system we term Mission Focused Self-Management™. Our company is operated by Colleagues without titles or an appointed hierarchy of authority. Position Details This role is seasonal, with the possibility for year-round employment.
The Mission and Position This colleague's Mission is "to maintain and operate drum manufacturing equipment, to consistently achieve the quality and service expectations of our customers in a cost effective, environmentally responsible manner."
Knowledge, Talent and Experience Requirements
Excellent understanding of Mechanical concepts & skills
Ability to listen & communicate written and oral information
Ability to push, pull and lift to 50lbs
Ability to work long hours, overnight and weekends throughout the year
Ability to work in high heat & cold weather conditions
Ability to follow GMP policies & work safely in fast-paced production areas
Patient, but persistent in getting results
Ability to work in a Self-Management culture & be a team player
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
Compensation Starting wage is between $23.00 and $28.00 per hour.
