Job Title: Carpenter - Construction Specialist
About Your Opportunity:
Join our team at Wohlsen Construction Company, where you'll have the primary responsibility for constructing wooden structures, including blocking, based on sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions. You'll play a vital role in studying specifications to determine the dimensions of safety barriers, trim/millwork, toilet accessories, and door/hardware installations.
How You’ll Contribute:
As a Carpenter - Construction Specialist, your contributions will include:
Setting hollow metal frames and pre-hung door units
Hanging doors and installing door hardware
Erecting, assembling, and installing framing
Installing interior and exterior trim, cabinetry, and wood blocking
Measuring and cutting materials to required sizes
Performing demolition work if necessary
Installing Division 10 (Bathroom Accessories)
Conducting wood framing, metal stud installation, window installation, flashing, and insulation
Other Functions:
Interacting with other field employees and subcontractors
Utilizing your ability to read blueprints
Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of carpentry construction experience
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Machines/Tools/Equipment:
The employee is expected to supply their own carpentry tools, including a toolbelt, hammer, tape measure, utility knife, pencil, and combination or speed square. Must be able to move materials to perform demo work.
Working Conditions:
Works in both indoor and outdoor construction environments with exposure to various weather conditions and temperatures
Overtime may be required
Some work may involve elevated heights, several stories above ground or work below ground
Out-of-town work may be required
