Engineering Test Technician – I&R
Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. Arthrex is actively searching for an Engineering Test Technician. This individual will design, prototype, build, troubleshoot, and repair highly specialized electro‑mechanical systems for use in engineering lab testing, as well as support design engineers in the development of concept and prototype electro‑mechanical assemblies that eventually bridge to finished medical device systems. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Work on assignments, such as R&D, Verification and Validation builds that require sound judgement, and collaborative skills in resolving any issues.
Assemble components to specifications using specialized hand tools, measuring equipment, microscopes, while making decisions regarding proper fit within established guidelines as may be required.
Generate and perform detailed electrical test procedures and document results.
Ability to complete complex tasks and assignments in creative and effective ways.
Determine root cause analysis using a variety of tools, including data analysis.
Assist with various aspects of engineering product development as may be assigned.
Perform or initiate cleaning in the work area or maintenance/calibration of lab equipment as directed by preventive maintenance/calibration schedule.
Education / Experience:
High school diploma with 2 years of relevant work experience.
Associate’s degree or some college preferred.
Experience in medical device development or manufacturing preferred.
Experience with engineering specification documentation and conventions preferred.
Skills:
Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Capable of testing electronic components and subassemblies using tools such as computer programs, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, waveform monitoring equipment, and digital and analog electrical test equipment.
Soldering and desoldering through-hole and fine-pitch surface mount board assemblies and components.
Knowledge:
Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
General application of concepts and principles.
