Job Summary Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment is one of the largest family‑owned semi truck dealerships in the United States. The Tier 1 technician will have the skills trained in the Tier 3 and Tier 2 specifications and will have completed additional online and off‑site training. A Tier 1 technician will not be considered for advancement until they have a minimum of five years of on‑the‑job training.
Essential Position Functions and Principal Accountabilities
Completed advanced online portion training in Mack & Volvo in our dual branded locations and single brand in those single branded locations. This requirement may also be met using Cummins Training, Medium Duty Training, or Allison training.
Actively working on approved off‑site training prerequisites or attending off‑site training towards a certification in the agreed‑upon training path.
Advanced knowledge of Air System, Fuel Systems, After treatment systems, etc.
Examples of Skills Needed to Master This Level
Performs timely repairs, minimum 90% efficiency and 80% proficiency.
Performs quality repairs with minimal rework based on value, frequency, and managerial discretion.
Ability to lead & train Tier “2” & “3” Technicians.
Can diagnose and repair advanced electronic, lighting, and electrical systems.
Progression Requirements
Complete all Tier 2 & 3 Job Role Requirements.
Must complete a minimum of 3 items listed below.
Complete in 3 areas of the ASE “Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Certifications”.
Master Certified in at least 2 Mack or Volvo Pro‑Path Segments.
D.O.T. Inspection Certified.
Certified in at least one Cummins engine platform.
Certified in a Medium Duty (Hino, Mitsubishi, or Isuzu).
Allison Transmission Certified (one).
Have valid Commercial Driver’s License.
Active in the Safety Committee.
Willing to participate in the Mack Master’s/Vista Tech competition.
