Description Competitive Compensation
Pay: $60,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year, depending on experience.
Job Summary The Tier 1 technician has mastered Tier 3 and Tier 2 skills and completed additional training. Minimum of five years of on‑job training is required before consideration for advancement.
Essential Position Functions & Principal Accountabilities
Completed advanced online training in Mack & Volvo at dual‑branded locations; alternative training may be via Cummins, Medium Duty, or Allison.
Actively working on approved off‑site training prerequisites and attending off‑site training toward certification.
Advanced knowledge of air, fuel, and after‑treatment systems.
Examples of Skills Needed to Master This Level
Performs timely and accurate repairs, 90% efficiency, 80% proficiency.
Production of quality repairs with minimal rework.
Ability to lead and train Tier 2 & Tier 3 technicians.
Diagnose and repair advanced electronic, lighting, and electrical systems.
Progression Requirements
Complete all Tier 2 & Tier 3 job role requirements.
Complete at least 3 items listed in the certification tree.
Complete 3 areas of the ASE Medium/Heavy Duty Truck Certifications.
Master Certified in at least 2 Mack or Volvo Pro‑Path segments.
DOT inspection certified.
Certified in at least one Cummins engine platform.
Certified in a medium‑duty platform (Hino, Mitsubishi, or Isuzu).
Allison transmission certified.
Valid commercial driver’s license.
Active member of the Safety Committee.
Willing to participate in the Mack Master’s/Vista Tech competition.
