Conventional Machining Technician — Lathes, Mills & Grinders
Mi-Tech Tungsten Metals, LLC
Base pay range: $25.00/hr - $28.00/hr
Are you the go‑to problem solver on the manual floor? If you can read a print, plan the job, choose the tooling, and run it through without hand‑holding, Mi‑Tech Tungsten Metals wants to meet you.
This role is for a conventional machinist who thrives on autonomy, precision, and variety—moving from lathe to mill to grinder to deliver components to exact technical specifications and production standards.
Your impact
Transform raw stock into precision metal components via cutting, drilling, milling, boring, and broaching per work orders, blueprints, drawings, templates, and layouts.
Own manual lathe setups: change chucks, indicate vises/workpieces, and run OD/ID turning, tapping, threading, and reaming.
Master milling: sweep tables, set heads, and use arbors, adaptors, collets, vices, circular tables, indexing heads, tailstocks, and vertical milling attachments.
Execute face, angular, form, straddle, and gang milling with confidence.
Apply indexing methods—direct, plain/simple, compound, differential, and angular—and resolve numerical indexing problems.
Interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents; coordinate and oversee complex machining operations from start to finish.
Use metrology to prove your work: calipers, micrometers, height gages, indicators, and comparators.
Leverage deep knowledge of machine tools and machining operations; deliver precision, attention to detail, and strong problem‑solving at every step.
What it takes
2–5 years of manual machining experience and proficiency in manual machining skills.
Better‑than‑average mathematical abilities.
Experience in a manufacturing environment.
