DXP is seeking a Senior Pump Mechanic to repair and fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers, and related rotating equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, disassembly, inspection, and repair of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps, gear pumps, reciprocating pumps, metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers, mechanical seals, and other equipment. Summary The Senior Pump Mechanic will repair/fabricate a variety of centrifugal, gear, diaphragm, and reciprocating pumps, gear reducers and related rotating equipment, troubleshoot, disassemble, inspect and repair a variety of rotating equipment including centrifugal pumps (single and multi-stage), gear pumps, reciprocating pumps and metering pumps, gear reducers, blowers (vacuum and pressure), mechanical seals, and other types of equipment.

Responsibilities

Receive, disassemble, inspect, repair, paint, and package/prepare API centrifugal pumps as well as other related rotating equipment

Assist with training and developing Pump Mechanic personnel to ensure efficient use of manpower and compliance with customer requirements

Monitor progress of repairs and guide shop personnel to complete those repairs

Serve as one of the most experienced tradesmen in the shop

Set a positive leadership tone and behavior

Interact with customers in a positive way, showing them how DXP cares about their business

Assist the Supervisor in the execution of all work

Qualifications

10+ years of experience working in a pump repair shop facility with experience repairing API centrifugal pumps and related rotating equipment

Experience repairing API/Engineered pumps, creating details, and making technical decisions

In-depth understanding of API 610 and other applicable standards

Ability to read pump sections, machine drawings, and OEM pump manuals

Disassembly, inspection, ability to write up detailed rotating equipment reports including repairs and replacement parts

Disassembly, assembly, pneumatic pressure testing of equipment, painting of finished repairs and final inspection

Safely use hand, power, pneumatic and hydraulic tools

Experience with pneumatic and hydrostatic testing of parts and equipment

Ability to read and understand mechanical seal drawings and perform removal, installation, and pneumatic pressure testing

Ability to work with multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Ability to achieve results with minimal supervision

Background check, physical, and drug test required

Additional Information

Physical Demand: Lift up to 50 lbs

Working Conditions: Shop environment, potential exposure to dirt, heat, and noise (no AC/heat)

Shift Time/Overtime: Day shift with regular overtime

Education: High School Diploma or GED
