Electrical Project Engineer | Mega Circuit, Inc.
The Production Manager oversees all manufacturing operations within the PCB production facility, ensuring output meets quality, cost, and delivery targets. This role manages production teams, optimizes processes, maintains equipment readiness, and ensures compliance with industry standards such as IPC, ISO, and environmental/safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Scheduling
Develop and execute production schedules based on customer orders, material availability, and capacity constraints.
Coordinate with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality departments to ensure smooth workflow.
Monitor WIP (work-in-progress), identify bottlenecks, and take corrective actions.
2. Operations Management
Oversee all PCB manufacturing stages—lamination, imaging, drilling, plating, etching, solder mask, legend printing, surface finish, and final inspection.
Ensure machines and processes run at optimal efficiency and yield.
Implement lean manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement practices.
3. Quality & Compliance
Ensure production meets IPC standards (IPC-A-600, IPC-6012, etc.) and customer specifications.
Work with Quality Assurance to reduce defects, increase yield, and support root-cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions (CAPA).
Enforce ESD, environmental, and workplace safety protocols.
Supervise line leaders, supervisors, and production staff across multiple shifts.
Plan manpower allocation, train staff on processes and equipment, and evaluate performance.
Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
5. Equipment & Process Optimization
Monitor machine performance, coordinate preventive maintenance with engineering/maintenance teams.
Lead process optimization projects to reduce cycle times, scrap, and operating costs.
Support introduction of new materials, technologies, and equipment into production.
6. Reporting & Metrics
Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as:
Production output
Yield/quality rates
Scrap and rework levels
Provide weekly/monthly performance updates to senior management.
7. Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate with:
Engineering
on process changes
Supply Chain
on material planning
Quality
on audits and defect reduction
Sales/Customer Service
on delivery commitments
Participate in customer audits and support technical discussions.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field).
Additional certifications (Lean Six Sigma, IPC training) preferred.
Experience
5–10+ years of experience in PCB manufacturing, with at least 3 years in a supervisory/managerial role.
Strong knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and equipment.
Skills
Excellent leadership and communication skills.
Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing and process control.
Proficiency in production planning tools and ERP/MES systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
Fast-paced, high-precision manufacturing environment.
Requires regular presence on the production floor, including shift support when necessary.
