Utilizes ANA Standards of Practice for Nursing Professional Development to assess, diagnose, plan, and implement activities for individual and organizational development. Models Standards of Professional Performance for Nursing Professional Development. Provides expert consultant for continuing education, competency-based assessment, orientation, and training.# **Major Job Functions**The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:* Partners with Clinical Educator and Manager to develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to promote professional growth of employees* Acts as a resource for adult learning, continuing education, and individual area of specialty* Provides or coordinates educational activities utilizing adult learning principles according to planned objectives* Promotes evidence-based practices in consultation, committee work, and in the classroom environments* Participates in continuing education in area of specialty to maintain competency* Incorporates appropriate resource utilization, to include operational and capital resources and data collection retrieval and analysis* Maintains instructor status in BCLS* Provides feedback in a constructive manner* Other duties as assigned# **Minimum Qualifications**The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:## **Education and Formal Training**:* Associates Degree in Nursing required* Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina required* Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred## **Work Experience**:* Three years as a Registered Nurse with at least one year in the specialty of education required* Classroom teaching experience and certification in specialty area preferred## **Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required**:* Demonstrates positive interpersonal skills* Verbal and written skills required* Ability to mentor and effect positive change* Strong knowledge of adult education* Demonstrates effective organizational and leadership skills* Demonstrate credentials as an instructor level status in AHA, BCLS and other areas as assigned## **Physical Requirements**:* Speech and auditory acuity for communication* Visual acuity for observation of patients* Many hours of standing, walking, bending, and lifting* May involve skin, eye, mucous membrane, or parenteral contact with blood or other potentially infectious material* Must be able to lift 35 pounds**Required Licenses and Certifications**RN - Board Of NursingCape Fear Valley Health System is an Equal Opportunity Employer M/F/Disability/Veteran/Sexual Orientation/Gender IdentityFor exceptional healthcare come to Cape Fear Valley Health where caring employees are committed to integrity, patient-centeredness and excellence throughout the entire healthcare process.
