Sandia National Laboratories seeks a dedicated Administrative Support professional for the Background Review Office within the Personnel Security Department.

What Your Job Will Be Like This full‑time, onsite role supports the Personnel Security Department, processing pre‑employment background reviews and supporting the Security Review Board (SRB).
Process Pre‑Employment Background Reviews (PEBRs) consisting of applicant background information
Contact external entities or organizations to conduct employment verifications and perform telephone reference checks
Access public records and commercially available data source checks
Research information within a variety of databases
Assist clearance applicants/holders with reporting requirements
Assist the SRB Program Manager by providing administrative support, including drafting scripts, composing memorandums, and entering data into databases
Salary Range $47,400 – $87,200 (salary determined based on experience, qualifications, and geographic differential)
Qualifications We Require
Relevant Associate’s Degree or high‑school diploma plus five or more years of administrative support, customer service, or related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Active DOE Q‑level security clearance required to start
Qualifications We Desire
Experience in one or more major security areas: information security, physical security, personnel security, or cyber security
Knowledge and experience with requirements to protect confidential information such as Personally Identifiable Information
Ability to work independently within a diverse, dynamic, and changing customer base environment
Experience in audits, inventory, assessments, and data entry/analysis
Strong interpersonal, organizational, critical thinking skills, and a focus on customer service
Broad understanding of SNL programs, policies, organizations, procedures, and administrative systems, and familiarity with DOE directives especially Safeguards and Security related requirements
Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office products
Ability to effectively communicate and partner with leadership (Senior Manager and above)
About Our Team The Personnel Security Department includes the Badge Office, Clearance Office, Uncleared Personal Identity Verification Program, Human Reliability Program, and Background Review Office. The team ensures positive access control for DOE resources through badge issuance, security clearance processing, and background investigations for employees and site visitors.

Security Clearance Position requires a DOE Q security clearance (or equivalent). All applicants must be U.S. citizens. The role involves a pre‑employment drug test, background review, and continuous clearance maintenance.
