Adecco Perm Recruiting is soucing on behalf of our client for the position of
Hydraulic Mechanic
in the
N. Charleston, SC
area to join a dynamic manufacturing team. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide expert service for a range of hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders, pumps, motors, and power units, including troubleshooting, evaluation, repair, and assembly. This position requires a skilled technician capable of diagnosing complex fluid power issues and performing high-quality repairs independently.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnose hydraulic and pneumatic system problems and present recommendations for repair.
Use schematics and diagnostic equipment to investigate system failures.
Tear down, evaluate, repair, and reassemble cylinders, pumps, motors, and power units.
Inspect components to determine reconditionability and document service reports.
Prepare repaired components for delivery to customers.
Perform field service work independently as required.
Operate hand tools, jib cranes, and forklifts safely and efficiently.
Assist in identifying fluid power manufacturers, their products, and perform initial parts quoting.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum of
5 years of experience
in fluid power (hydraulic, pneumatic, and/or electro‑mechanical) or equivalent training.
Ability to read and interpret
hydraulic schematics .
Comprehensive understanding of hydraulic systems (size, build, and operation) preferred.
Strong mechanical abilities with formal mechanical training a plus.
Proficient in the use of hand tools and measurement instruments (micrometers, ID micrometers, calipers).
Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair hydraulic systems and components.
Able to work independently in the field.
Capable of performing physical tasks: walking, sitting, standing, crouching, and lifting up to 75 lbs.
Flexibility to work overtime, extended shifts, weekends, or on‑call rotations as needed.
IFPS certification
is a plus.
