STARTING SALARY RANGE: $20.50 - $22.55 per hour POSITION NO: 7.146 DEPT: Utilities This is semi-skilled and heavy manual work involving the installation, maintenance, repair, and general upkeep of lift stations, wells, water and sewer treatment plant facilities, and water and sewer distribution systems. Employee may assist other Utility Divisions; however, must be capable of independently performing his/her duties. Employee may be required to work weekends, holidays, after-hours, and on-call duty. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety practices associated with mechanical equipment and machinery; proper methods used to lubricate and maintain mechanical machinery and equipment. Knowledge of electrical wiring and general electrical work and tools. Knowledge of the methods, tools and materials used to install chemical feed lines, ejectors, pneumatic lines, etc.; and to maintain and repair wastewater lift stations, well facilities, and water treatment plants equipment; and maintain buildings and grounds. Knowledge of the materials, tools, machinery, and equipment used to install, maintain, and repair water mains, sewer mains, service lines, meters, and other water and sewer distribution systems components. Ability to learn or operate machinery and equipment used to maintain and repair water and sewer facilities. Ability to physically perform assigned duties; perform heavy manual work in all weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver bulky and heavy materials; lifting of objects up to 75 pounds and routinely lifting up to 50 pounds overhead. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees. Training, Certification, and Experience High School Diploma or GED. Experience in general maintenance and electrical repair work. Or, an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Special Requirements Valid Florida Commercial "B" driver’s license, or ability to obtain license with in 90 day s of employment.
