Responsibilities
Compiles and maintains records of quantity, type, and value of material, equipment, merchandise, or supplies stocked in the establishment.
Counts material in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
Compares actual inventories to records in Metalware.
Adjusts errors in computation or count and investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
Assists in other areas of operations as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED or one-year certificate from college or technical school.
Experience in the metals industry is preferred.
Effective communication skills in English (verbal and written).
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
Willingness to learn the internal computer system (mainframe program).
Ability to read measuring devices such as tape measure, micrometer.
Willingness to operate forklift / side loader and cutting equipment.
Basic math skills.
Physical Demands
Standing, sitting, stooping, and kneeling required.
Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.
Vision requirements: close, distance, peripheral, depth perception.
Work in varying temperature conditions.
