Summary Primary responsibility will involve either postal or records storage scanning/indexing; individuals will be trained and expected to be proficient in all areas to provide additional support as needed. Responsible for protecting the confidentiality of data at all times.
Responsibilities
Postal:
Sorting/distribution of incoming mail; weighing and applying appropriate postage to outgoing mail; making routine route deliveries to PRMC and Randallia mail rooms; operating mail equipment.
Records Storage/Scanning/Indexing:
Storing boxes of medical records using department software; ensuring each box is labeled and stored according to department markings; retrieving requested patient records and providing them by scanning or courier; sending empty record storage boxes to customers when requested; collaborating with Parkview's medical record department; monthly pull of records for destruction; preparing monthly destruction lists for billing; scanning and saving daily laboratory requisitions for billing; operating lift equipment and pallet moving equipment; scanning pertinent Health Data Elements (HDE) into electronic health records; indexing into the Scan File Cabinet by posting date, control group number, and poster’s initials; maintaining scanned data within departmental file cabinets, including hard copy within Central Distribution Center; user support of CDC automated scanned functions; providing ad hoc specialized reports of scanned documents.
Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Licensure/Certification:
Valid driver’s license.
Experience:
Print shop equipment operation experience, preferably in a digital environment; or postal services experience.
Other Qualifications:
Type 25 wpm; lift 50 pounds; drive and operate work assist lift vehicle; proficiency in PC usage including Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint; good verbal and communication skills.
