Patient Service Representative – King of Prussia Seeking Breakthrough Makers

Shift Evening (United States of America): 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, every other weekend and holiday.

A Brief Overview The Patient Services Representative greets patients and families, collects and enters demographic and insurance information, processes payments associated with services rendered, and reconciles daily services. Other duties include scheduling appointments, answering phones, and obtaining insurance referrals and authorizations. The role may require working with medical records, following HIPAA regulations, and providing administrative support and project assistance.

What You Will Do

Provide welcoming, prompt and respectful customer service, including scheduling appointments, informing of delays, addressing complaints, and escalating as necessary.

Perform EPIC functions such as check‑in, check‑out, entering demographic and insurance information while ensuring accuracy and running daily eligibility verifications.

Reconcile daily services, including collection and processing of payments, reimbursements, and obtaining insurance referrals and authorizations.

Answer phones promptly, verify contact information, document messages, and provide appropriate information to callers.

Manage calls by triaging and directing to nurses or physicians, documenting CHOP home‑care calls, and assisting with distribution of calls to on‑call providers.

Communicate schedule and staffing changes to providers and supervisors.

Perform administrative tasks such as sorting, delivering mail, faxes, medical records, photocopies, and related documentation.

Participate in team huddles and meetings.

Maintain patient records and provider templates in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.

Round periodically to inform patients of delays and assist with ED/Admissions specific tasks (e.g., SART paperwork, nurse call communications, trauma B‑line arrivals).

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma / GED (Required)

Experience Qualifications

At least one year of experience as a patient services representative in health‑care registration, physician billing, medical records, or customer service (Preferred)

Skills and Abilities

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong interpersonal skills.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Salary Range $20.55 – $25.69 per hour (Full‑time). Part‑time pay adjusted accordingly. Employment may offer compensation above the range based on skills and experience.
