Heavy Equipment Operator We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Dallas team. In this role, you will operate a variety of heavy machinery to safely and efficiently load, unload, sort, and transport scrap metal materials within our yard. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, productive, and organized work environment. Equipment may include forklifts, front‑end loaders, material handlers, and excavators.
What You’ll Do
Operate heavy equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company safety standards
Load, unload, move, and sort various grades of scrap metal
Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance (fueling, lubricating, cleaning)
Complete daily inspection reports and notify maintenance of any equipment issuesAssist with traffic flow to ensure materials are unloaded in the correct locations
Report load inspections and contaminants to the Load Inspector and Scale Operator
Complete required paperwork accurately and on time
Maintain equipment and job site cleanliness, including power washing as needed
Meet productivity and production goals
Follow all safety rules and regulations
Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to safety and detail
Ability to lift and carry up to
50 pounds frequently
Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
Comfortable climbing in and around heavy equipment for inspection and operation
Strong time management and task prioritization skills
Preferred Experience
Prior experience operating material handlers and/or excavators is a plus
Previous heavy equipment or yard experience preferred but not required
