We are seeking a Heavy Equipment Operator to join our Dallas team. In this role, you will operate a variety of heavy machinery to safely and efficiently load, unload, sort, and transport scrap metal materials within our yard. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, productive, and organized work environment.

Equipment may include forklifts, front-end loaders, material handlers, and excavators.

What You'll Do
  • Operate heavy equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and company safety standards
  • Load, unload, move, and sort various grades of scrap metal
  • Perform daily equipment inspections and routine maintenance (fueling, lubricating, cleaning)
  • Complete daily inspection reports and notify maintenance of any equipment issues
  • Assist with traffic flow to ensure materials are unloaded in the correct locations
  • Report load inspections and contaminants to the Load Inspector and Scale Operator
  • Complete required paperwork accurately and on time
  • Maintain equipment and job site cleanliness, including power washing as needed
  • Meet productivity and production goals
  • Follow all safety rules and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
What We're Looking For
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to safety and detail
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to read, write, and follow instructions
  • Comfortable climbing in and around heavy equipment for inspection and operation
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience operating material handlers and/or excavators is a plus
  • Previous heavy equipment or yard experience preferred but not required
