Position Description Ryder is immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Storeroom Attendant / Forklift Operator in Gastonia, North Carolina.
Hourly Pay: $17.12 per hour
Schedule: First Shift Monday‑Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm

Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Clean driving record and personal vehicle; travel within area ~25‑50%
Strong technical aptitude – Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, scanners, WMS system order entry
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted; lift/push/pull up to 35 lbs; stand for long periods
Work both indoors and outdoors; flexible schedule across shifts
Valid Forklift Operator's License and related certification
Strong verbal and written communication; teamwork and independence
Detail oriented, highly thorough, punctual with good attendance
Ability to maintain professional relationships at all levels
Stress‑resistant, accurate, high‑quality work under pressure
Health and safety methods compliance
Valid Driver's License and meet Ryder’s driving qualifications
Important Note Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, vehicle records check, road test, or background and badging requirements of the customer.
Responsibilities
Perform warehouse functions such as loading, picking, packing, shipping, receiving, forklift operation, and cycle counting.
Adhere to performance measurement guidelines of the contract.
Ensure accurate picking and packing; audit, tote induction, staging of products; load and unload trucks.
Manage day‑to‑day paperwork (picking sheets, returns, bills of lading, etc.).
Provide technical and maintenance support for automated packing systems during core shift hours.
Perform other duties as assigned.
