Base pay range $17.00/hr - $22.00/hr

About the Role: The Maintenance Technician at Holiday Inn Express Two Notch Road Columbia SC plays a critical role in ensuring the hotel’s facilities and equipment are operating efficiently and safely to provide guests with a comfortable and pleasant stay. This position involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and executing repairs across various systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building infrastructure. The technician will work proactively to identify potential problems before they impact operations, thereby minimizing downtime and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and functionality. Collaboration with other hotel departments is essential to prioritize maintenance tasks and respond promptly to guest requests or emergencies. Ultimately, this role supports the overall guest experience by maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning environment throughout the property.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Proven experience as a maintenance technician or in a similar role, preferably in the hospitality industry.

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, painting, drywall, HVAC, and mechanical systems.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.

Valid driver’s license and ability to operate maintenance equipment safely.

Familiar with hotel lock systems Onity, Doormakaba, Saflok.

Working knowledge of PTAC units.

Familiar with Quore.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in HVAC, electrical, or plumbing trades.

Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

Knowledge of safety standards and regulations such as OSHA.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Previous experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal operation.

Respond promptly to maintenance requests from hotel staff and guests, diagnosing issues and completing repairs efficiently.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and inventory of supplies and equipment.

Collaborate with management and other departments to schedule maintenance activities that minimize disruption to hotel operations and guest experience.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and hotel policies by following proper procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.

Skills: The required skills enable the Maintenance Technician to effectively diagnose and repair a wide range of facility issues, ensuring continuous operation of hotel systems. Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems allows the technician to perform preventive maintenance and emergency repairs with confidence and accuracy. Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for coordinating with hotel staff and management to prioritize tasks and minimize guest disruption. Familiarity with safety protocols ensures that all work is conducted in a secure manner, protecting both employees and guests.

Pay Range: $17 to $22 per hour.
