Survey Instrument Operator
Accura Engineering and Consulting Services, Inc. is hiring for the Survey Instrument Operator role in Atlanta, GA.
Base Pay Range $16.00/hr – $22.00/hr
Duties / Responsibilities
Collect data using company standards for descriptions and line coding.
Assist Party Chief in running field operations.
Operate and maintain surveying instruments (transits, levels, theodolites, electronic distance measuring equipment) to measure and verify elevations, angles, and distances.
Coordinate with office staff and clients as required.
Adhere to local, state, and federal survey regulations as well as Accura procedures.
Monitor accurate completion of daily timesheets, reports, and vehicle inspections.
Perform mathematical calculations to establish and locate reference points.
Interpret maps, plats, blueprints, and specifications.
Clean, check, and adjust survey instruments to ensure measurement accuracy.
Oversee surveying activities in the absence of the Survey Party Chief.
Perform related work as required.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 1 year of experience using data collectors, robotic and non-robotic total stations, and GPS equipment.
Minimum 1 year of experience in land surveying.
Experience with GDOT is preferred.
Valid driver’s license and insurability.
Willing to train suitable candidates lacking some experience.
Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
Must be willing and able to travel as required.
Physical Requirements
Physically mobile in construction sites and field assignments.
Able to carry required instruments and equipment.
Able to lift 50 pounds.
Capable of safely and successfully performing essential job functions per ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting productivity standards.
Endures variable climate and environmental conditions, including extreme cold and heat.
