Responsibilities Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Health – Intake Coordinator

The Intake Assessor handles the assessment and referral activities at the facility. This position interfaces closely with the medical staff, department members, administration, treatment team, external case managers, and managed care organizations. It takes passion and dedication to meet the behavioral health needs of our community. Windsor Laurelwood Center for Behavioral Medicine, located in Willoughby, Ohio, has provided high‑quality behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services to adults, adolescents, and children for over 100 years. We offer both inpatient and outpatient programming to meet patients’ healthcare needs, and our team is dedicated to helping individuals regain control of their lives.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in social work, psychology, mental health or a related field, or licensed RN.

Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting. Knowledge of mental‑health field, competency in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family treatment, treatment planning, and communication with external review organizations or comparable entities.

Work Environment: Clean, well‑lit setting; intake coordinators may sit or stand for long periods. High‑stress, active work environment with continuous low‑volume office noise.

Additional Requirements: Training in non‑violent physical crisis intervention and CPR before independent assignment or release from orientation.

Professional Skills This individual must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Diplomacy and discretion are essential. The applicant must be able to prioritize responsibilities and maintain a professional demeanor and appearance.
