Citizens offers a variety of residential supports based upon the level of support and supervision required by each person, including Individualized Residential Alternatives (IRA’s) and Intermediate Care Facilities (ICF’s).
Responsibilities
Practice and promote the agency’s mission statement in every interaction.
Provide ongoing support to people during the overnight and morning hours (self‑care routines such as toileting, feeding, showering, dressing and diapering).
Ensure a safe and clean home by supporting people with household chores, including laundry.
Follow all treatment plans and utilize adaptive and safety equipment to promote independence and safeguard health and safety.
Report and document any events or activities that may jeopardize the health, safety and well‑being of residents.
Support people in the morning with meal preparation, teaching diet adherence, portion control and cooking skills.
Assist with medication administration in accordance with the AMAP policy and procedures.
Accompany or transport residents to day programs or job locations using safe driving practices.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Successful completion and maintenance of AMAP (Approved Medication Administration Personnel) status.
Ability to communicate and understand written and oral directives.
Excellent team player with a positive attitude.
Qualified driver status is not required for overnight Direct Support Professionals working 11 pm–7 am. As a non‑qualified driver, you cannot use an agency vehicle or transport residents.
