*MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ONSITE AT THE OUAZ SURPRISE, ARIZONA CAMPUS*
Position Type & Time Commitment
Graduate Assistantship (Part-Time, Variable Hours)
Approximately 29 hours per week on average
Weekly hours may fluctuate based on the athletic calendar, including lighter weeks and peak periods (such as championships, special events, or heavy competition weeks) that may require additional time commitment
12‑month appointment, renewable for a second year based on performance
Responsibilities
Assist in maintaining and managing statistical records for all athletic events (PrestoStats), gaining foundational experience in sports information operations
Write, edit, and distribute press releases, media guides, feature stories, and game recaps
Maintain and update the OUAZ athletics website with scores, schedules, multimedia content, and feature stories
Lead the creation, scheduling, and expansion of athletics social media content across multiple platforms to engage fans, recruits, and student‑athletes
Capture, edit, and produce photo and video content for promotional use, social media, and game‑day storytelling
Assist with filming, editing, and producing highlight videos, promotional reels, and special features
Recruit, train, and supervise a student communications workforce to support game‑day, media, and operations needs
Serve as a representative for OUAZ in NAIA and conference settings, gaining exposure to the broader collegiate athletics structure
Assist with planning and executing promotional, branding, and game‑day operations strategies for home athletic events
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Experience managing social media platforms and creating engaging digital content
Knowledge of athletics communications, sports information, and game‑day operations
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment
Proficiency in photography, videography, video editing, and graphic design is a strong plus
