Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Internal beat reporter focusing on compelling stories in written, video, social media, graphics, and other innovative formats.
Supervise, manage, and train the communications team, including the Director of Communications, Assistant Directors of Communications, student workers, and vendors, determining sports assignments.
Maintain the athletics department website and write and edit various department communication materials, including postseason publications, press releases, record books, and website content.
Work closely with athletics department staff and coaches to promote stories through digital and social media platforms.
Develop and write news and feature press releases about coaches and student‑athletes and disseminate the information to the media and the public via the athletics website and social media platforms.
Nominate and promote student‑athletes and coaches for awards.
Maintain historical records, statistics, and photographs among other department information.
Oversee credential needs, producing and distributing passes for home events.
Coordinate team schedule approval with the Associate AD of Facilities, including campus master calendar system integration, and manage schedule change requests.
Provide support for television, radio, and streaming broadcasts of games and events as needed.
Manage the Communications and Digital Media department budget.
Maintain vendor relationships and oversee necessary staff training on platforms such as SIDEARM Sports, INFLCR, StatBroadcast, Genius StatCrew, FOSH, etc.
Assist in compiling information on athletics department accomplishments for the Presidents Report on a regular basis.
Coordinate the hiring and scheduling of student workers and game‑day staffing as needed.
Adhere to all NCAA Conference and University policies, rules, regulations, and operational procedures.
Required Experience Director‑level position requiring experience in athletic communications and media management.
