Webb Chemical Service Corporation
The Chemical Operator works in a warehouse focusing on chemical handling, safety, and operating a forklift. The role requires adherence to safety protocols, work instructions, PPE, and safety standards across the work zone.
Reports To:
Fort Wayne Operations Supervisor
Direct Reports:
None
Responsibilities
Packaging chemicals off of tankers
Monitoring floor scale
Monitoring the wastewater tank
Taking monthly samples from the wastewater tank
Monitoring samples in the sample cabinets
Asset management (empty assets coming in, prepping for drumming and storage)
Inventory management of drumming supplies (caps, lids, gaskets, etc.)
Driving capability
Operating forklift to load/unload trucks
Working with Inventory Management System
Barcoding, loading boxes, shipping/receiving, repackaging, correct labeling
Transferring hazardous chemicals into containers/tankers
Filling out all paperwork for bulk correctly
Properly loading assets into TrackAbout
Proper use of safety equipment and safety showers
Following, improving, and updating work instructions
Reporting and being an active part of the continual improvement process
Audits
Following safety procedures
Working outdoors in varying weather conditions daily/year‑round
Check in with Supervisor/Lead before punching out daily for any final assignments
Other duties as assigned
Skills Required
Forklift operator experience
Good housekeeping habits
Ability to recognize potential hazards and correct them
Physical Capacity
Weight‑lift 50‑100 lbs
Lift over shoulder and above head
Low to ground bend/scoot
Climb stairs and ladders
Gripping/ Hands
Lifting
Work Schedule
40 hours/week, OT as needed
Monday‑Friday, weekend work as needed
1st shift: 7:30am‑4:00pm
Lunch: as planned/scheduled per day
Regular and consistent attendance
After hours – as scheduled
