Production Technician

– Corteva Agriscience – Fremont, Iowa

What You Will Do

Participate in harvest activities such as preparation, drying, shelling, husk oversight, product unloading, and other relevant processes.

Perform general plant, field and warehouse operations that evolve each season.

Accurately monitor highly automated equipment for harvesting, conditioning, treating, and packing.

Handle product return and sorting activities.

Actively participate in conditioning activities such as sizing, gravity operation, packaging, palletizing, etc.

Use automation and computerized systems to perform work tasks (computers and iPads).

Perform warehouse activities such as forklift operation, collecting samples, pooling, and other duties.

Perform various other duties as assigned.

Education

High School Diploma/GED or willingness and ability to obtain GED within 12 months of hire as condition of employment.

What Skills You Need

Ability to climb and/or work in elevated areas, stand and sit for extended periods; work outdoors and indoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions; lift up to 50 lbs; perform repetitive motion and lifting.

Comfortable with technology and good computer aptitude, including Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other company-specific applications.

High diligence, multitasking, organized workplace, and excellent problem-solving skills.

Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Teamwork, initiative-taking, communication of concerns, and acceptance of change.

Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.

Integrity, positive working environment, and willingness to assist team members consistently.

Adherence to health and safety protocols, ensuring safety for self and colleagues.

Understanding that timely delivery is critical and willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, nights, and weekends during seasonal peaks.

What Makes You Stand Out

Two-year technical or associate’s degree in agriculture, manufacturing, or related field.

One year of education and/or experience in operations, manufacturing, agriculture, or related industry.

Knowledge or experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles such as 5S, Continuous Improvement and Standardized Work.

General knowledge or experience with field and/or agriculture equipment (plows, tractor, forklift, etc.).
