Location: Baptist MD Anderson Medical Center, Jacksonville, FL
Sign‑On Bonus: $1,000*
Shift Hours: 9:00‑5:30 PM (full‑time day position)
Job Summary
We’re hiring for a Revenue Cycle Referral Coordinator for the Baptist MD Anderson team in Jacksonville, Florida. The department is a large team that supports oncology patients in person and via phone interactions. The environment is fast‑paced, high‑volume with mandatory overtime. The goal of a referral coordinator is to make the patient scheduling appointment and timeline successful. The role requires obtaining diagnostic and imaging appointments (CTs, MRIs, PETs, etc.) 15‑days ahead and prioritizing competing demands. Quality is a priority over productivity, and there are opportunities for growth within BMDA. Primary Responsibilities
Work directly with patients, physicians, physician teams, and insurance companies to obtain authorizations and/or referrals for physician, imaging services, rehabilitation, infusion therapy, radiation oncology, and surgery appointment types for both the physician and facility. Adhere to the department’s policies and procedures related to the verification of eligibility/benefits, prior authorization requirements, and other identified financial clearance duties. Obtain authorizations and referrals in a timely manner and document status clearly in the relevant systems. Escalate financial clearance issues to the supervisor promptly. Possess knowledge related to the field of oncology. Education
High School Diploma or GED – required Associate’s Degree – preferred Experience
Less than 1 year of medical office experience – required License and Certification
Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) – preferred Location
