Machine Operator II - C15 Heads, 1st Shift

Brief Overview As a Machine Operator II, you will perform key duties associated with the machining of engine blocks and cylinder heads for Caterpillar Diesel Engines. Reporting to Production Managers, you will be part of a dynamic operations team dedicated to high‑quality production.
About IPSD Caterpillar’s Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L engines that power more than 5000 applications, including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Sustainable solutions and green energy initiatives are core to IPSD’s strategy.
Responsibilities
Operate machining equipment to produce high‑quality parts free of defects.
Maintain records related to inventory, quality, defective parts, and equipment.
Maintain a safe and clean workstation.
Meet or exceed production standards as set by the company.
Submit and assist with Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives.
Follow standard operating procedures and specific work instructions.
Communicate with supervisors and managers about processes within the assigned area.
Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production goals.
Qualifications
A minimum of 4 months’ experience in a machining or manufacturing environment.
Experience with electronic standard work or standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Comfort working in cross‑functional teams and contributing to problem‑solving.
Top Candidate Qualities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Certification in 3 or more relevant technical stations (or willingness to obtain).
Familiarity with Caterpillar’s safety standards and continuous improvement programs.
Experience with rework/repair of non‑conforming material.
Physical Requirements
Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time.
Ability to perform repetitive operations.
Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.

Additional Information
1st Shift: Monday – Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM. Overtime as required.
Relocation assistance is NOT available for this position.
Compensation Pay Range:
$19.55 - $24.70 per hour (range may vary based on location, experience, and performance).
