Overview
The Teller I works in a TD Store location and delivers legendary customer experiences while processing everyday banking transactions with accuracy and efficiency. They educate customers on TD's products and services or refer them to a partner for specialized solutions.
Responsibilities
Executes TD's Brand promise to customers by delivering a Legendary Customer experience in the Store.
Performs customer transactions including deposits, withdrawals, loan and safe deposit box payments.
Processes cash transactions such as cashing checks, verifying currency, balancing cash drawer, and night deposits with a high level of accuracy.
Responds to and resolves customer inquiries and concerns using standard procedures; escalates to management as necessary.
Engages in lobby leadership by guiding customer flow, warmly welcoming customers, and directing them appropriately.
Understands customer banking preferences and educates customers on self-service/digital options that meet their needs.
Acts as an advocate for the customer by conducting needs-based conversations; offers financial and digital solutions or refers to appropriate partners.
Makes sound decisions and provides timely problem resolution, escalating more difficult issues to management.
Ensures compliance with company guidelines and regulations (e.g., Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot Act) to minimize risk and protect customers.
Verifies customers' identities by following authentication policies and procedures.
Balances cash drawers, ATMs, and Teller Cash Recyclers as necessary; adheres to safe deposit box procedures.
Maintains cash limits and secures cash; protects confidential customer information; follows dual control; adheres to security and audit measures.
Uses bank tools and processes to detect, address, and prevent fraud.
Completes all required in-classroom and online training by established due dates.
Education & Experience
High school diploma or GED
6 months work-related experience preferred; or equivalent demonstrated through volunteering, education, or military experience
Ability to work during operating hours including weekends, evenings, holidays as scheduled
Demonstrated Customer Service skills preferred
Strong organizational skills
Detail-oriented
Ability to function in a fast-paced and changing environment
Excellent communication skills with ability to be concise, clear and consistent
Physical Requirements Physical demands vary; see listing for details. Typical requirements include sedentary work, frequent standing, occasional lifting, and ability to operate standard office equipment. Travel: Domestic travel – occasional; International travel – never.
