The pattern maker will work with design, Product development and production to coordinate the pattern development and execution of all product categories of the collection from first through production stages.
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Pattern Maker to join our design, pre-production and production team. This role is responsible for translating the designer’s inspiration into accurate patterns that ensure excellent fit, consistency, and manufacturability.
Key Responsibilities
Create, modify, and finalize patterns from design sketches, technical drawings, or sample garments Develop first patterns, fit samples, and production patterns for all styles Conduct and participate in fit sessions; adjust patterns based on feedback Ensure patterns meet quality, sizing, and construction standards Collaborate with designers, sample makers, and product development teams Maintain accurate pattern files and documentation Troubleshoot fit and construction issues before bulk production Prepare patterns for mass production, including seam allowances, notches, and construction details Required qualifications
7+ years of professional experience in pattern making Strong understanding of garment construction and fit Experience with both flat pattern and draping techniques Proficiency with pattern-making software, Gerber Ability to read and interpret technical design sketches and spec sheets Knowledge of grading, fabric behavior, and manufacturing processes High level of precision and attention to detail Experience in denim, outerwear, and knits Organized and deadline-driven Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects Citizens of Humanity is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer
