Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach

Lexington-Richland School District Five is dedicated to fostering academic and personal success for all students, from early childhood education through grade 12, as well as adult and community education programs. Role Description This is a contract position for an on‑site Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach in Irmo, SC. The Assistant Varsity Soccer Coach will work closely with the head coach in developing and implementing practice plans, game strategies, and skill‑building sessions for the team. Responsibilities include coaching players, managing equipment, fostering a positive team environment, and ensuring players adhere to academic and behavioral standards. The coach will play an integral role in motivating athletes and promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and athletic development.

Qualifications

Effective communication skills, including the ability to inspire and motivate student‑athletes

Experience and knowledge in coaching and guiding players of varying skill levels

An understanding of education principles to support athletes in their academic responsibilities

Familiarity with video analysis is a plus

Demonstrated ability to organize and manage practices, games, and team‑related logistics

A passion for mentorship and the development of young athletes
