Key Responsibilities

Provide best‑in‑class guest service: greet guests promptly, respond to questions quickly, assist with gaming needs, inform about promotions, recommend items, apply selling behaviors, thank guests, and prioritize guests over tasks.

Support the total shopping environment, including visual and operational elements, current sales initiatives, and guest relationships that lead to sales and repeat business.

Process guest purchases/returns accurately using the POS computer system, issue receipts, and maintain top‑notch service.

Respond to guest comments or phone calls promptly and professionally; elevate issues to the Store Manager as needed.

Promote GameStop’s guest benefits such as new title reservations, trade‑in, and Pro Rewards loyalty programs.

Assist the Store Manager with setting guest service expectations, training associates, and ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.

Observe associate performance, provide feedback to the Store Manager, address unsatisfactory performance, and manage recognition.

Ensure all associates complete onboarding, training, and compliance before working shifts.

Schedule associates per guidelines, manage staffing levels for optimal service, and maintain best‑in‑class service.

Approve payroll, manage paid time off, verify time worked, and maintain accurate records.

Maintain store cleanliness, equipment functionality, and merchandising per guidelines.

Fulfill and ship Omni‑Channel orders daily.

Protect company assets through inventory control, loss prevention, and bank deposits; inspect packages and communicate concerns.

Support store goals and complete administrative and operational duties.

Perform inventory counts, restock shelves, move products to the front, and keep the space organized.

Count, balance, reconcile daily totals accurately in the POS system; complete closeout paperwork and deposits.

Verify shipments, record discrepancies, conduct inventories, and communicate to management.

Process defectives/recalls accurately and promptly, labeling boxes and including packing lists.

Maintain associate and guest safety, address hazards, and report injuries promptly.

Assist in maintaining store records/files and ensuring manuals are current.

Supervise and delegate tasks to Sales Associates and Retail Keyholders in the absence of the Store Manager.

Adhere to all GameStop policies and procedures, including the Associate Handbook and Code of Standards, Ethics & Conduct.

Follow all opening and closing procedures.

Qualifications

Proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.

Minimum 18 years old.

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or a related field preferred.

At least 6 months of retail management experience preferred.

At least 2 years of retail sales, guest service, and/or management experience preferred.

Video game knowledge preferred.

Execute financial tasks per company policy.

Work a flexible schedule, including extended hours/days, nights, weekends, some holidays; minimum 3 days/week availability.

Manage pressure, adapt to stressful situations, and solve problems creatively.

Reliable, trustworthy, and exercise good judgment.

Work alone, stand, and move throughout the store up to 12 hours/day.

Lift up to 30 lbs, climb ladders, and perform basic movement tasks.

Understand military ranks and insignia (for store locations on military bases).
