Armed County Officer – On Call / As Needed

Part-Time | On-Call | As Needed Position Overview
Armorous Security is seeking highly qualified Armed Inmate Services Officers (ESOs) to support county inmate and hospital security details. This is a specialized, higher-responsibility role reserved for experienced armed officers who demonstrate strong judgment, professionalism, and composure in sensitive, high-risk environments. This position is on-call and as-needed, primarily covering hospital inmate watch and county-related custody details. Officers selected for this role will be paid a premium rate of $32/hour, applicable only to inmate detail assignments. Primary Assignments
Hospital inmate watch details County-related inmate custody support Armed presence in medical and secured environments Coordination with medical staff, county personnel, and Armorous leadership Shifts
On-call / as-needed based on county and hospital demand All shifts possible (day, swing, graveyard) Flexibility and rapid response availability strongly preferred Key Responsibilities
Maintain armed supervision of inmates during hospital stays or transport-related assignments Ensure safety of medical staff, the public, and all involved parties Maintain constant situational awareness and control of assigned inmates Follow all county, hospital, and Armorous post orders and protocols Communicate clearly and professionally with supervisors and partner agencies Complete accurate, detailed reports related to inmate activity and incidents Represent Armorous with professionalism in high-visibility environments Qualifications & Requirements
Valid BSIS Guard Card (required) Valid BSIS Exposed Firearm Permit (required) All required armed equipment, including firearm, duty belt, holster, vest, and handcuffs Must provide at least one proof of firearm re-qualification completed within the last six (6) months, if applicable Current BSIS certifications (First Aid/CPR preferred) Proven experience in armed security; inmate, hospital, or custody-related experience strongly preferred Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional in high-pressure environments Strong communication, documentation, and decision-making skills Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs $32.00/hour applies only to inmate detail assignments Other assignments (if applicable) are compensated at standard armed ESO rates
