Assistant Diesel Mechanic – 2nd Shift
Pay & benefits: Starting salary $22–$27 per hour depending on experience. Stable hours for financial stability. Tool allowance reimbursement up to $2,500. Boot allowance up to $300. Hours & Location
Monday – Friday, 10:00 am – 6:30 pm (second shift). No weekends.
Site: Webster, NY hauling location. Repair/maintenance shop setting.
Responsibilities
Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on diesel equipment and, where applicable, CNG trucks.
Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts.
Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs).
Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns.
Conduct safety checks on vehicles; maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with OSHA standards.
Complete required paperwork documenting parts usage and repair times.
Assist senior mechanics with project work and review/assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Over 18 years of age.
Legally eligible to work in the United States.
Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position; reasonable accommodations available.
Successfully complete and pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam.
