Position Overview The Part‑Time Lab Instructor supports the department in the delivery of instruction to present material to students who are pursuing classes.
What you will be doing
Researches, develops, and conducts workshops and orientations for students
Assists in development of material
Provides instruction in a lab setting or classroom setting
Evaluates and grades student written work and software assignments
Computes final lab student grades of end of term for all lab courses
Maintains students’ records, academic progress and attendance rosters as assigned
Provides training for other lab staff members on lab policy and procedures
Participates in workshops and trainings
Serves on Campus committees as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
What you need to succeed
Bachelor’s degree in related field and one (1) year of teaching experience
All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution
Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures
Possess well‑developed communication skills (Verbal and Written)
Ability to follow OSHA safety and proper disposal requirements in the laboratory
Knowledge and understanding of student and faculty requirements for lab procedures, skills, and testing
Ability to positively interact with staff, students, and faculty
Possess a friendly demeanor and provide intelligent solutions
Knowledge of computer applications and educational technologies for academic support
Possess an aptitude for teaching and interest in working with students
Ability to work a flexible schedule to include evening and weekend assignments
Ability to work well in a multi‑ethnic and multi‑cultural environment with students, faculty and staff
Additional Requirements The final candidate is to successfully complete a background screening and reference check process.
