Job Description
The Machine Operator is responsible for operating manufacturing equipment related to finished-good packaging. Responsibilities include ensuring efficient and safe machine operation, producing high quality products, keeping production area clean and orderly, inspecting equipment, performing preventative maintenance, and assisting in the training and direction of other production employees.
Job Duties
Setup machines at the beginning of shift, ensuring proper working order
Maintain and clean machines during each shift, performing minor repairs with basic hand tools
Maintain quality requirements in accordance with company and food safety standards
Ensure machines produce quality products by performing periodic checks on output, accurately filling out inspection sheets to document results
Adjust machine components according to attributes of each product
Reset machines following malfunctions, clearing any machine jams
Troubleshoot problems encountered during machine operation
Maintain raw materials in adequate amounts to ensure continuous smooth running of equipment and operation
Clean packaging machinery parts and perform preventative maintenance activities
Qualifications Minimum Requirements
High school, GED or equivalent
Regular and predictable attendance required
Required to work standard 8 hour shifts
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Attention to detail
Able to stand for an 8 hour shift
Able to lift 50 pounds on an occasional basis
Effectively work as part of a team
Ability to operate in a fast paced production environment
Willingness to learn and improve, working in all assigned areas of production
Mechanical aptitude is a plus
