Functions in the group include safety, project field management, construction management, quality control, start‑up and decommissioning, and field engineering.

As a Civil Construction Operations Support – Solar, you will ensure that solar civil resources with the necessary expertise and tools are available to support the assigned construction project execution. You will identify resource allocation, communicate with the Construction Operations Manager, and make execution decisions in accordance with division policies, standards, guides and contractual commitments. Travel is required.

Key Responsibilities

Provide civil support for national solar construction projects.

Direct administration and training of solar construction civil personnel for national projects.

Develop standard operating procedures for construction execution that minimize cost and duration.

Monitor, evaluate, and report civil performance of assigned projects to the Solar Operations Manager.

Provide recommendations regarding project civil staff assignments and teams.

Act as liaison between construction and engineering for all civil matters.

Ensure all construction projects meet client‑specified civil quality standards.

Support site Civil Superintendents in developing SOPs, man‑loaded and equipment‑loaded schedules, staging plans, bill of materials, and quality control plans.

Lead weekly civil superintendent calls to discuss safety, quality, productivity, and resource needs.

Establish and maintain relationships and trust with key clients, alliance partners, subcontractors, and project teams.

Communicate lessons learned and review project budgets/unit rates to ensure alignment with company earning rules.

Coordinate and track civil equipment assignments with site teams and keep a status spreadsheet.

Direct corrective action for civil discipline problems or poor performance, involving HR as required.

Enforce and interpret division and department policies, standards, and procedures.

Provide supervision, training, development, and performance management of direct reports.

Adhere to safety and quality standards applicable to duties.

Identify and assess improvement opportunities that add value; champion continuous improvement efforts and support change management.

Travel to support sites as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

8+ years of construction supervisory experience within the solar construction industry.

8+ years of experience in solar civil construction.

Solar construction experience required.

Field environmental controls experience.

Proficiency with MS Word and MS Excel.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in construction, heavy industrial experience, or relevant experience preferred. Minimum of 3+ years of construction management experience. Work Environment and Physical Demands

Lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds.

Stand, kneel, bend, stoop, move, and walk long distances in confined, cluttered places and uneven areas.

Use hearing and vision naturally or with correction.

Full range of motion and flexibility.

Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools or controls per procedure.

Perform repetitive movements.

Work above 5 feet in height.

Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.

Work up to a 12‑hour shift doing hard physical labor in varying temperature extremes.

Typical construction site environment: cramped spaces, awkward positions, very hot (above 90°F) or very cold (below 32°F) temperatures, and exposure to dust, wind, snow, rain, etc.

Requires working in extremely bright or low lighting conditions.

Exposure to sounds and noise levels that are distracting or uncomfortable.

Work around hazardous equipment.

Typical office environment.

This position is considered a safety‑sensitive position.

Salary Plan & Job Grade Salary Plan: CNS – Construction Services. Job Grade: 018.
